Korean Traditional House By Bannie

I want to show you guys korea traditional house ”hanok”. This is Korean architecture. If you live in this houses, you don’t need to use up energy for heating or cooling. This is because there is a ‘ondol’. This is a Korean heating system, which it was originated from the ancient kingdom of Goguryeo (37 B.C. ~ A.D. 668).

There is a large stone under a living space. So, smoke from a fire makes floor warm. The most interesting thing that I want to explain is that even if you remove the direct source of heat, there will be remains the heat for a long time. It is nature-friendly. Moreover, we don’t need to worry about the cooling system because Korea houses usually have the river in front of the house and the mountain behind of their house. This is due to the fact that this location makes cooler and wind. If you come to our house, you can experience this house. Bye^^

It was so interesting for me to read your blog because I really want to study Korean traditional culture. I was impressed with the structure of "hanok" because it's really good for nature. Actually, I think "hanok" is a little similer to a Japanese traditional house, but the shape of the roof is so different.(^V^)v
